Carl’s interest in the construction world began by serving as President of his HOA when the Board initiated a construction defect lawsuit. He interviewed and hired the legal team and related architectural and construction experts, successfully negotiated the backing of the owners to special assess for costs of the discovery phase and subsequent litigation, worked closely with the litigation team during discovery and litigation phases, and upon settlement, hired the Architect and General Contractor. This knowledge was the perfect gateway into his position as a Homeowner Liaison at a prominent Seattle construction company.
After 4 years as a Liaison, Carl was promoted to Project Engineer, and then Project Manager at the same company. He was responsible for bidding, estimating, reviewing scopes of repair and plan specifications, assessing areas of risk and developing strategies to mitigate. After 11 years, Carl came to Amento Group to start his consulting career. At Amento Group he assists HOAs in contractor interviews and selection process; prepares, negotiates, and executes contracts between owners and contractors; and monitors construction schedules, sequencing and installation procedures.
In the meantime, you’ll find this active artist, musician and smooth fox terrier lover speeding down black diamond ski slopes and making a mean pot-o-chili.
