A U.S. Army veteran and University of Washington graduate, Darren earned his Professional Engineering license in 1998, and has been practicing in the Pacific Northwest and throughout the country ever since. Reinforced by a concrete body of knowledge and broad span of practical experience, Darren is steely in his pursuit of the right solution for each unique project. From marine to masonry, courtroom to condition assessment, Darren is building bridges to success.
As both a licensed Structural Engineer and Construction Project Manager at Amento Group, Darren performs a variety of functions, including structural design services for buildings both new and old, and structural load design criteria for wind and seismic forces, and other special projects. He assists with remediation projects by furnishing and reviewing structural designs, and performing quality assurance of structural components throughout construction. Darren also serves as an expert witness regarding structural design issues during dispute and litigation proceedings.
In his off-hours, Darren cultivates a hobby of a more mechanical nature: the care, maintenance, and occasional back-country jaunt in his Corvette Z51 Coupe and Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Both sporty and snappy, Darren characterizes his interest as a taste for “the finer things in life.” But we know what it really is: appreciation for a well-engineered system!
