Silpa did her Master’s in Architectural Conservation in India, where she was part of the conservation efforts that worked on listing and documenting the historical waterfront garden structures in Agra, beside the Taj Mahal (a part of the UNSECO World Heritage Site). She describes architecture as the study of how environments impact structures, and how structures impact people. Her background offers unique insight into Seattle’s historic masonry and the communities that live and work alongside it.
Her soft-spoken nature belies a fierce, competitive spirit. She spends her weekend dominating the badminton court. Residents of the Bellevue area should beware: with a racquet in hand, she is a force to be reckoned with.
